Why take CTE and JTED classes?
--Our classes are hands-on, real-world classes that prepare students to pass state assessment and career certification exams.
--Our 2, 3 and 4 year programs allow students to learn skills and make business and industry connections that can lead to jobs.
--High school students who take CTE courses graduate both high school and college in greater numbers than students who don't.
--There are 6 million open jobs in the U.S. right now, but no one with the sklls to fill them. Nothing teaches STEM skills like CTE and parents who encourage their kids to do CTE are helping to secure their future.
What is a CTSO?
--CTSO stands for Career and Technical Student Organization. These are student clubs connected to business and industry fields. Through these clubs, students gain leadership skills, business and industry connections, and resume building experiences.
--CTSO's go on field trips to tour community businesses, participate in community events and they compete in local, regional, state and national competitions.
--Our CTE/JTED classes provide membership to DECA, SkillsUSA, FFA and Thespians.
