ABOUT THE LIBRARY
The Tanque Verde High School Library is more than just a room full of books. We have comfortable chairs for reading and socializing, computers for research, and several tables for homework, meetings, and testing.
The library staff assists teachers and students with reference and research, technology use, class projects, and more. The librarian instructs classes on good resources, works with students individually, and plans units with teachers that use the most recent technology and book resources in order to prepare students for college level research experiences.
Paige Riffle is the librarian for Tanque Verde High School. She is a fully certified teacher, and she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing and Near Eastern Studies from the University of Arizona. This is her fourth year as the TVHS Librarian.
The high school library has over 4000 books, educational videos, and magazines geared to both adult and young adult interest. Books can be checked out for two weeks.
Students are expected to be respectful and responsible at all times. To visit the library during class, students are expected to have passes. Students must sign in and out every visit. Phones may not be used during a class period. Students must use inside voices. Food and drink are allowed in the tiled area only.
There are 8 desktops in the library for student use. The library also houses ten class sets of Chromebooks that can be reserved by teachers for class use.
