Emily Gray Jr. High School's National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) rallied our Tanque Verde school community and collected teddy bears to give to the children in Diamond Children's Hospital. What a wonderful community we have!
On Wednesday, February 14th, the NJHS visited the Diamond Children's Hospital to distribute the bears to the children.
Our students were given a tour of this wonderful facility, wholly dedicated to the patient as a person and as a child. Our students were able to give a bear to every patient who wanted one. The smiles and joy on the faces of the children and their parents meant a lot.
We cannot thank the community and parents enough for helping and supporting our students accomplish this worthy effort. Our students learned a tremendous lesson about reaching out to the Tucson community and to this important hospital. They also learned a great deal about health care professions and the dedication these professionals have to care for those in need.
