ACES 4th grader wins 2nd place in national ACS Chemists Celebrate Earth Day Illustrated Poem Contest
Great news for Agua Caliente Elementary School and our School District!

The winners of the 2017 ACS Chemists Celebrate Earth Day Illustrated Poem Contests have been announced!

Andrew Smith, a 4th Grader at Agua Caliente Elementary School, won 2nd place in the national contest for the 3rd-5th Grade Category. The 2017 topic was "Chemistry Helps Feed the World".

As noted on the ACS website, "As part of CCED 2017, students from grades K-12 were invited to share their interpretation of this year's theme, “Chemistry Helps Feed the World”, in the form of illustrated poems. Winners at the local section level qualified for the national contest. At the national level, first- and second-place prizes were awarded in four categories. Thank you to all schools and local sections that participated!"
