Also during Youth Art Month, Tanque Verde Elementary School held its annual TVES Art Show & Auction benefitting the elementary school art programs. Governing Board President, Ms. Susan Fry, was in attendance, and she noted, “The event was truly amazing; with beautiful student artwork and class projects everywhere the eye could see.”
The portable folding art display boards which were in use at the event were funded by Char’s Art Fund, a charitable organization which raises awareness and funding for the needs of the TVUSD Elementary Art Program. Ms. Marrano expressed her appreciation for the support of former Tanque Verde elementary art teacher Charlene Atkinson and the fund which bears her name. Tax deductible donations to Char's Art Fund may be directed to the TVUSD District Office (these are not Tax Credit donations.)

Elementary School, Ms. Jenine Grisez has been working with 4th grade art students on a project for the statewide “WeAreAZ” 4th Grade Collaborative
Student Visual Art competition. Also this month, at Bear Canyon Library, ACES 5th grade multi-media artwork is on display. Celebrating the Year of the Dog and the artistic style of American artist George Rodrigue, students created a paper collage background with a specific setting, then drew and used watercolor pencils to paint their "Blue Dog." Fun, colorful, and interesting work! Be sure to stop by and see it!
