It's almost Halloween, what better time for Literary Pumpkins! -

Kinder - 6th graders at Agua Caliente Elementary were invited to participate in the 5th Annual Literary Pumpkin Contest! Students decorated pumpkins based on a favorite book and displayed it in the ACES Library during the Halloween Howl on Friday, October 26. 16 judges had a difficult decision as all the pumpkins were amazing!

This year's winners were:

K - 1st Grade Category

1st Place: Lacey C. in Mrs. Lopez's Kinder class for Vampirina in the Fall by Sara Miller

2nd Place: Sylvia F. (Preschool) for Angelina and the Butterfly by Katharine Holabird

3rd Place: Emma F. in Mrs. Ratajczak's 1st grade class for Uni the Unicorn by Amy Krouse Rosenthal

2nd - 3rd Grades Category

1st Place: Lilah V. in Mrs. Thompson's 3rd grade class for This is the House that Monsters Built by Steve Metzger

2nd Place: Skylar R. in Mrs. Mansour's 2nd grade class for Smile by Telgemeier

3rd Place: Sophia F. in Ms. Mo Gwilliam's 3rd grade class for Owl Diaries: Warm Hearts Day by Rebecca Elliott
4th – 6th Grades Category

1st Place: Kaylee M. in Mrs. Tompkins's 4th grade class for Dog Man and Cat Kid by Dav Pilkey

2nd Place: Aria T. in Mrs. Tompkins's 4th grade class for Who Was Marie Curie? by Megan Stine

3rd Place: Sierra K. and Lyla T. in Mrs. Johnson's 6th grade class for Wonder by R.J. Palacio
