The Arizona Department of Education has published the 2019 school letter grades. These letter grades are based on AzMERIT/SAT assessments conducted during the 2018-19 school year.
Overall, the Tanque Verde Unified School District compares well to other Pima County school districts and shows significant improvement over last year.
“The increase in student growth scores across the district demonstrates that the hard work teachers have been doing in their collaborative work groups is beginning to show meaningful increases in student achievement,” noted District Superintendent, Dr. Scott Hagerman.
Over the past year, school leaders and teachers have been working together as a professional learning community (PLC), developing clarity around knowledge that every student needs and ensuring students reach higher levels of learning. A professional learning community, or PLC, is a group of educators that meets regularly, shares expertise, and works collaboratively to improve teaching skills and the academic performance of students.
The Arizona State Board of Education finalized the Accountability Plan for the 2019 A-F School Letter Grades at their October 28, 2019 Board Meeting.
