AM Arrival and PM Dismissal

All parents must stay in their vehicle.  Parents are not permitted to park and walk up.  Please be patient and allow yourself enough time for drop off and pick up.

AM Arrival- Parents must stay in their car and drop off students as they drive up.  Students should arrive between 7:45 am and 8:05 am.  All students in 1st - 6th grades should be dropped off in the regular car drop off lane.  All Kindergarten students and their siblings will be dropped off in the front of the school near the new kinder playground gate.  Please stay in your cars as you drive up. Upon arrival, students will go directly to their classroom.  There will be plenty of staff members available to help children find their classrooms.

PM Dismissal- All students in 1st - 6th grades will be picked up in the car drop off lane.  All Kindergarten students and their siblings will be picked up in the front of the school near the new kinder playground gate.  Have your child’s first and last name and teacher name displayed in the front window for staff to see.  Please stay in your cars as you drive up to allow students to get in your car.  We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we navigate the first few days of parent pick up.

Bus Riders-  Buses will run before and after school for those that indicated the need for transportation on their Parent Choice Form.  PM bus riders will be dismissed at 1:50pm and those buses will leave by 2:00pm.  This allows for a staggered release of students at the end of the school day.

Breakfast and Lunch

Our school will be offering free breakfast and lunch.

Breakfast- Students may pick up a free breakfast in the courtyard and take it to their classroom.
Lunch- Lunches will be delivered to classrooms. At this time, there is no charge for lunch. Students can still bring a lunch from home or get a school lunch. Students will eat in their classrooms or outside and will have an outdoor recess time.

Recess- Playground areas are divided and classes will be assigned a different area each week.  Students will only be allowed to play in their designated area to ensure there are limited numbers of students in each area.  The areas will be rotated weekly.

If you would like to send something to school for your child's birthday, please contact the classroom teacher ahead of time.  This year, we are asking parents to consider non-food items, or prepackaged treats.

Classroom Information

Class Size-  Classes will be capped at 15 to allow for physical distancing.

Mask Policy- Students and staff are required to wear masks at all times in the classroom and on campus.  Students will wear masks when playing in close proximity on the playground.   Students may be given a mask break if they are distanced and outside or when eating.  The TVUSD Governing Board cloth face covering policy may be reviewed here.

Restroom Breaks-  Only one student at a time will be allowed to leave the classroom to use the restroom.  Teachers will instruct students that if stalls or urinals are being used, students should wait outside the restroom door socially distanced.

Specials- Each class will have one special a day for 30 minutes.  Specials include Library, Art, PE, and Music.  The schedule will rotate every week. For example: One week Ace the Coyote will attend Library and Art in person, and access PE and Music online.  The next week, Ace the Coyote will attend PE and Music in person and access Library and Art online. Online only students will access all specials virtually each week.

Band and Orchestra- While we are following the hybrid schedule and guidelines, Band and Orchestra will be online courses that students will access on their at home days.

Handwashing- Students should wash their hands with soap and water every time they enter the room or leave the room, before eating lunch or a snack and at least every 2 hours.

Supplies- Students should have their own supply box.  It is suggested that it be kept at school so students are sure to have items when needed.  Supplies will be provided or they may bring their own.

Cleaning-  Door handles and other high touch areas will be disinfected throughout the school day.  All air conditioners are fully opened to allow fresh air to circulate the classroom;  when feasible, doors and windows will be propped open to allow for more ventilation.

Online Only - Cohort C Information

Students learning at home will have access to two lessons every day.  Teachers will either record their live Google Meet lesson and post into Google Classroom, or post pre-recorded lessons into Google Classroom.  Assignments will continue to be posted on a daily basis.  Teachers will schedule meetings with online only students on Fridays.  Teachers may also be available to connect with students and families virtually for 30 minutes after in person dismissal.

What happens on Fridays?
Teachers will host a whole group meeting that includes students who are learning in hybrid as well as those who are learning online.  They will also be checking in with students who are online.  Assignments will be uploaded into Google Classrooms.
