Approved July 28, 2021 by TVUSD Governing Board

Revision Approved September 7, 2021

The TVUSD Governing Board approved the District’s Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan on July 28, 2021, with a renewal every 6 months. The Superintendent was granted the authority to adjust the Plan and update the Board regarding any adjustments in a meeting held within 30 days of any changes. The first revision was approved on September 7, 2021.

 COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS

FACE COVERINGS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED EXCEPT ON SCHOOL BUSES

  • Face coverings are strongly recommended but not required when in any educational space except on school buses. The district will follow CDC requirements.  Wearing a mask is required on all public conveyances, including on school buses. (Per 9/07/21 board approved revision)

  • Face masks will be available for distribution upon request.

IMMUNIZATIONS NOT MANDATORY

  • Tanque Verde Unified School District will continue to provide information to the community about COVID immunization opportunities as a courtesy for those who wish to access the vaccine. However, the COVID immunization will not be required for staff or students.

HAND HYGIENE

  • Tanque Verde Unified School District will continue to encourage good hand hygiene, such as reminding students to wash hands after using the restroom, before meals, etc., and provide access to hand sanitizer stations.

CAFETERIAS & CHILD NUTRITION

  • Employees must adhere to Food Services Guidance.

  • Use disposable student food service items (e.g., utensils, trays).

  • Ensure that all non-disposable food service items are handled with gloves and washed with dish soap and hot water or in a dishwasher.

  • Students should not share food or drinks. TVUSD’s Plan is contingent upon CDC guidance and state updates as environmental conditions change.

VISITORS IN TVUSD SCHOOLS/FACILITIES PERMITTED

  • In the 2021-2022 school year, visitors will be permitted in schools as they were pre-COVID.

  • Schools keep a log of visitors and where they visited.

  • Stagger groups using playgrounds and/or limit multiple group usage.

  • Wash hands before and after recess.
