AM Arrival and PM Dismissal

All parents must stay in their vehicle.  Parents are not permitted to park and walk up.  Please be patient and allow yourself enough time for drop off and pick up.  We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we safely welcome and dismiss our students.

AM Arrival: Students should arrive between 7:45 am and 8:05 am.  All students in Kindergarten - 6th grades should be dropped off in the regular car drop off lane in front of the MPR. There is no drop off allowed in the parking lot. Upon arrival, students will go directly to their classrooms.  There will be plenty of staff members available to help them find their classrooms.

Bus Riders:  Buses will arrive at 1:50 and will leave by 2:00 pm allowing us to use the bus lane as a parent pick up lane for Kindergarten-2nd grade starting at 2:00 PM.  Please do not pull into the bus lane until after all our buses have left.

PM Dismissal:  3rd- 6th grades will be picked up in the regular car drop off lane in front of the MPR.
Kindergarten-2nd grade students and their older siblings will be picked up in the bus bay.
Have your child’s first and last name and teacher name displayed in the front window for staff to see.

Breakfast and Lunch

Our school will be offering free breakfast and lunch.

Breakfast: We will have a “Grab and Go” station set up next to the MPR.  Students may pick up breakfast on their way to class. (Kindergartners will have breakfast delivered to their classroom).

Lunch:  Lunches will be delivered to classrooms. Students can still bring a lunch from home or get a school lunch. Students will eat in their classrooms or outside and then have an outdoor recess time.  For the safety of our students and staff, there will not be any microwaves available to heat up food.  Please plan accordingly.

Water Bottles:  Please send a labeled water bottle with your child;  outside water fountains will not be in use.

Recess: The playground is divided and classes will be assigned a different area each week.  Students will only be allowed to play in their designated area to ensure physical distancing.

Classroom Information

Class Size:  Classes will be capped at 15 to allow for physical distancing.

Mask Policy: Students and staff are required to wear masks at all times in the classroom and on campus.  Students will wear masks when playing in close proximity on the playground.   Students may be given a mask break if they are distanced and outside or when eating.  The TVUSD Governing Board cloth face covering policy may be reviewed here.

Restroom Breaks: Only one student at a time will be allowed to leave the classroom to use the restroom.  Teachers will instruct students that if stalls or urinals are being used, students should wait outside the restroom door physically distanced.

Specials: Each class will have one special a day for 30 minutes.  Specials include Library, Art, PE, and Music.  The schedule will rotate every week. For example: One week Ecko Gecko will attend Library and Art in person, and access PE and Music online.  The next week, Ecko Gecko will attend PE and Music in person and access Library and Art online. Online only students will access all specials virtually each week.

Band and Orchestra:  While we are following the hybrid schedule and guidelines, Band and Orchestra will be online courses that students will access on their at home days.

Hand-washing: Students should wash their hands with soap and water every time they enter the room or leave the room, before eating lunch or a snack and at least every 2 hours.

Supplies: Students should have their own supply box.  It is suggested that it be kept at school so students are sure to have items when needed.  Supplies will be provided or they may bring their own.

Cleaning:  Door handles and other high touch areas will be disinfected throughout the school day.  All air conditioners are fully opened to allow fresh air to circulate the classroom;  when feasible, doors will be propped open to allow for more ventilation.

Online Only - Cohort C Information

Students learning at home will have access to two lessons every day.  Teachers will either record their live Google Meet lesson and post into Google Classroom, or post pre-recorded lessons into Google Classroom.  Assignments will continue to be posted on a daily basis.  Teachers will schedule meetings with online only students on Fridays.  Teachers will also be available to connect with students and families virtually on an as-needed basis for 30 minutes after in person dismissal.

What happens on Fridays?
Teachers will host a whole group meeting that includes students who are learning in hybrid as well as those who are learning online.  They will also be checking in with students who are online.  Assignments will be uploaded into Google Classrooms.

Please feel free to contact the school office (749-4244) if you have additional questions.

Birthdays

If you would like to send something to school for your child's birthday, please contact the classroom teacher ahead of time.  This year, we are requesting parents to bring non-food items or prepackaged treats.
