Head Coach - Jeffrey Bollnow

A Tucson product, Coach Bollnow played football from the age of seven until he graduated from Cornell College (2014). During his time at Cornell, he was fortunate enough to be a 4-year starter on the football team, make the Midwest Conference Academic All-Conference team (2012-2013), be recognized as the Midwest Special Teams Player of the Week (2013), and earn the honors of being Cornell College Strength and Conditioning Male Athlete of the Year (2014), and Cornell College Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2014). Upon graduation from Cornell, Coach Bollnow jumped right into coaching as a graduate assistant for Northern Illinois University football (D1) and then settled back into Southern Arizona as a sought assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Marana High School, Cienega High School, and Sahuarita High School under local coaching greats such as Andy Litten and Pat Nugent. In addition to his head coaching duties for the Hawks, Bollnow will be creating a full-day strength and conditioning program at Tanque Verde High School to provide programming for our Tanque Verde student-athletes and physical education students. Bollnow holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from Cornell College (2014) and will be entering his 8th year as a teacher. Prior to coming to Tanque Verde, Bollnow was a member of the Sahuarita Physical Education Department, where he built an athletic development program that served over 180 students (2021-2023). Before Physical Education, Bollnow was a Geometry teacher at Cienega High School in the Vail Unified School District (2016-2020). During that time, he was nominated for the Cienega Teacher of the Year award (2018). Bollnow believes in building an environment that supports growth. His class will utilize different training elements focused on developing strength, speed, agility, mobility, and conditioning to help students maximize their personal potential while providing them with a fun, safe, and productive athletic experience within their school day.
