Mr. Carlos Ruiz, Past President and Member of the Tanque Verde Unified School District Governing Board, has entered his resignation from the Board, effective January 1, 2020. Mr. Ruiz was appointed to the TVUSD Governing Board in 2012 and was re-elected to the board in 2016.
Mr. Ruiz has been a highly effective governing board member, supporting the district through the opening of its first high school, building a new junior high school, and hiring two school superintendents, while ushering in new, higher standards for staff and students, and increasing emphasis on school emergency preparedness. With his business and community connections, Mr. Ruiz has been instrumental in focusing efforts on increasing partnerships with the district. He has built on his relationships with local and state leaders to give TVUSD a voice in issues of importance to our local community.
“It has been an honor to serve on the TVUSD Governing Board for the past seven years and I believe we are well positioned to continue the excellence in the district,” stated Mr. Ruiz.
“The students and staff of the Tanque Verde Unified School District have greatly benefited from Mr. Ruiz’s years of dedicated service to our schools,” noted Superintendent Scott Hagerman.
