49er Cooking With Ty & Dave 101

Grades 7-8

Instructor: Tyrell Potter, 49er Country Club

In this class, students will learn the basics of cooking. We will begin with knife skills moving into deeper areas of cooking as we progress. Students will have the ability to create their own dishes from a preplanned lesson, learn how to follow recipes, and how to use proper measurements, etc. We will also discuss the origin and history of all the dishes we will be creating. So if you love cooking and want to learn more about it, join Restaurant Manager, Ty Potter, and Executive Chef, Dave Grubb for a fun after-school cooking class at 49er Country Club!

49er Golf FUNdamentals 

Grades 2-6

Instructor: Luke Houchin, 49er Country Club

49’er is offering this fun gold class by an actual golf instructor.  In this class, your student will learn golf fundamentals, introduce golf etiquette, putting, chipping, and driving. Students will learn proper grip, stance, and swing used for basic shots.  All equipment is provided, lots of fun for 2nd graders and up!

Animation 

Grades 1-6

Instructor: Alicia Marrano

This stop motion animation class is the perfect introduction to the art of stop motion. Mrs. Marrano will be there every step of the way, to help you create your very own stop motion video. Whether you are 6, or 106, this class is sure to be a blast! Now get ready - it’s time to start animating!

Anime/Manga Drawing Class

Grades 3-6

Instructor: Eledel Giddings, Young Rembrandts

Young Rembrandts is now offering Anime Drawing Class. Our students will create dazzling illustrations that are influenced by popular Japanese anime and manga themes. Colorful characters with expressive personalities jump off the page. Students will also learn to create a storyboard around their characters. Don’t miss out on an exciting opportunity to produce wonderful artwork and storytelling!

Art Class with Young Rembrandts

Grades K-6

Instructor: Eledel Giddings, Young Rembrandts

Join Young Rembrandts for fun and active learning! Our class is designed to teach basic to advanced drawing skills, art techniques, vocabulary, and art history. We provide skills to express student’s creativity and believe that everyone can - and should - learn to draw just as they also learn to read, do math & learn science & technology! Students will thrive with increased art abilities, learning skills, focus, self-confidence, and self-esteem. All supplies provided. As a precaution to COVID, students each receive individual art supplies. Lessons are never repeated from session to session so students can continue to take our classes over and over again!

Bead Weaving

Grades 3-6

Instructor: Michelle O’Donnell

Boost your creativity and self-esteem in this Bead Weaving class (all skill levels welcome). The art of beading and the endless design and creative possibilities that come with that, gives the beader an area to let his or her imagination work. Beading keeps our hands busy and our minds at ease. In this class students will learn how to use a bead loom and create beautiful works of art.

Cross Stitch

Grades 3-8

Instructor: Lorri Mitchell

Cross stitch isn’t just boring patterns anymore! Learn how it can be fun with cute and funny patterns. They make great presents that your family will love! Whether you’re a beginner or not, we will have tons of fun making lasting creations together!

Dance Class

Class size up to 10 students, grades 1-6

Instructor: Crystal Griffith

A fun and interactive dance experience where children will not only learn basic dance techniques but also grow personally and artistically. An open dance class for all ability levels. Through this class, students will experience different styles including jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and contemporary.

Dungeons and Dragons

Grades 4-8

Instructor: Michael Rockel

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game where you and your friends tell a story together in worlds of swords and sorcery. You’ll guide your heroes through quests for treasure, battles with deadly foes, daring rescues, courtly intrigue, and much more! We’ll learn about D&D and play with classmates.

Gymnastics/Tumbling 

Grades 1-6

Instructor: Ashleigh Walker

In addition to increased coordination and flexibility, this beginning level gymnastics/tumbling class will help your child with sportsmanship and social skill building. Together we will build self esteem and confidence while learning the fundamentals of movement and building skills that will enhance athletic abilities across all sports. And last but not least, we will have lots of FUN!

Escape Room Challenge

Grades 3-6

Instructor: Tiffany Reese

Each week will feature a different escape room challenge! Have fun while improving motor skills by completing sports and fitness challenges. Develop critical thinking and team-building skills while unlocking codes that will lead to an escape room key. These activities can be beneficial for both school and sports!

French Language & Art

Grades 1-6

Instructor: Michelle O’Donnell

Students in this class will have the pleasure of learning a beautiful, rich, melodious language that is spoken across the globe. French is the international language of cooking, fashion, theater, the visual arts, dance and architecture. Students will begin to learn French while also studying famous French artists like Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, and Henri Matisse.

Kindness Club

Grades K-6

Instructor: Brandy Szaniszlo

Students will learn different techniques for painting kindness rocks, then hide them around campus for others to find.

Martial Arts

Grades 1-6

Instructor: Aaron Williams, A-Long’s Kung Fu

Students will learn martial art techniques and methods as well as fun drills and skills from certified masters. This course develops leadership skills, self-confidence, teamwork and goal-setting, coordination, and overall fitness.

Off the Hook Knitting

Grades 7-8

Instructor: Lisa Sherman

Skills taught include: finger knitting, knitting with 2 needles, loom knitting. Activities to create friendship bracelets, knitted animals, hats, or a scarf.

Project Leadership

Grades 4-6

Instructor: Jamison Lockridge

Project Leadership is designed to turn boys into young men and girls into young women with manners, empathy, and a social conscious. Students will help out with projects around the school and community while learning lessons that will help them in basic life skills Students will learn social etiquette, how to dress for success, and social lessons.

Retro Playground Fun and Games

Grades K-6

Students will learn how to play different retro playground games that they will be able to share with their friends during recess time.

Rock Painting

Grades 1-6

Instructor: Tiffany Reese

This painting class encourages children to express themselves through rock art. We’re painting rocks to hide and share with our community to enjoy. Unicorns, Pokémon, animals, monsters, you name it & we’ll paint it! Each day we will create works of art to place around town or hide them around the school for others to enjoy. Where will your rocks end up?

Rock Wall

Grades K-6

Instructor: Aaron Gruber

Beginning climbers will learn to boulder climb across the wall in a familiar and safe environment. Experienced climbers will practice their skills and will complete challenges and play games on the wall. We will also take breaks from the wall and play games including relay races, obstacle courses, and rec games.

Slime Factory

Grades K-6

Instructor: Brandy Szaniszlo

Come get messy and make your own sensory fun to take home. Join us as we measure, mix, and squish! We will be making a different variety of slime recipes or goo each week! Girl Scout Patches can be earned in this class.

Soccer Shots

Grades K-6

Instructor: Nathan Bias, Soccer Shots

Soccer Shots has a strong focus on character development with great new skills each week and fun games with 1 v 1, 2 v 2 games also with a fun scrimmage at the end of each session. The class will be divided into age and/or skill levels so each student can be given the attention they need to improve and have fun!

Spanish

Grades K-6

Instructor: Brenda Ruíz

Students will learn basic Spanish in an anxiety-free, fun-filled environment. Class activities revolve around music & movement, interactive games, and lots and lots of fun! The class is designed to be fun and engaging for students with little to no Spanish skills.

UpCycle

Grades K-6

Instructor: Brandy Szaniszlo

Each week students will create guided crafts using recycled materials while learning how to reduce their carbon footprint. Come craft with us! A Girl Scout patch can be earned in this class.
