Katie Beverage, Finn McGill and Andrew Flores

Tanque Verde High School proudly congratulates seniors Katie Beverage and Finn McGill on being named Flinn Scholars, one of the most prestigious academic honors in Arizona.

To celebrate this incredible achievement, the students were recognized during a special visit from Andrew Flores of the University of Arizona Office of Admissions, who stopped by campus to personally congratulate them.

The Flinn Scholarship is widely regarded as the most competitive and distinguished merit-based scholarship in the state. Each year, only about 20 students are selected from a pool of more than 1,000 applicants. Recipients are chosen based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership, service, and character.

Flinn Scholars receive a comprehensive financial package that covers the full cost of attending one of Arizona’s public universities. This includes tuition, housing, meals, and study abroad opportunities. In addition, scholars benefit from personalized mentorship, unique enrichment experiences, and access to a statewide network of high-achieving peers.

Being named a Flinn Scholar is an extraordinary accomplishment and reflects Katie and Finn’s dedication, perseverance, and positive impact both in and out of the classroom.

The Tanque Verde High School community is incredibly proud of their achievements and looks forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future.
