Please note: Students who are currently enrolled and attending a Tanque Verde School as an Open Enrolled Student, do not need to reapply here for open enrollment.
2026-27 School Year
NEW PROCESS - Tips before you begin.
Applicants are required to create a TVUSD ParentVUE account in order to access the application - Please use the Instructions for Creating a ParentVUE Account to guide you.
If you have a TVUSD ParentVUE Account, login and go to "Online Enrollment" and click on the icon "2026-27 OE Application".
If you are applying for the advanced academic pathways (Math, English, Science) digital copies of a report card or transcript will be required to be uploaded.
Complete Special Education documents are required to be uploaded at the time the application is submitted.
Any application without the supporting and requested documentation is considered incomplete and cannot be processed.
Deadlines:
Applications received from November 1, 2025 to January 9, 2026 for 1st grade through 12th grade will be entered into the Lottery (see information below).
Kindergarten applications will be reviewed in the order they are received and are not part of the Lottery.
Applications received after January 9, 2026 for 1st grade through 12th grade will be reviewed in the order they were received.

2025-26 (current) School Year
Students enrolling who live outside the attendance boundary for the Tanque Verde Unified School District can still apply for the current school year.
Additional Open Enrollment Information:
Open Enrollment admission is determined on a year-to-year basis.
There is no guarantee of continued Open Enrollment placement; students are subject to school, grade level, service capacity and program limitations.
The transportation of an open enrollment student is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian may be able to use existing TVUSD transportation routes, subject to restrictions and limitations set out in Governing Board Policy 5-105 Open Enrollment.
Students are required to remain in compliance with all TVUSD Open Enrollment standards and policies.

Most recent Individualized Education Program (If the student has an IEP, it must be provided in its entirety)
Most recent 504 Plan (If the student has a 504, it must be provided in its entirety)
Most recent Special Education Evaluation (If the student has one, it must be provided in its entirety. Referred to on your documents as an MET)

Open Enrollment Lottery Information
How Does the Tanque Verde USD Lottery Work?
Open Enrollment students will be offered placement subject to capacity (school, grade level, program and/or services).
Applications for Open Enrollment for the Lottery are accepted from November 1st to mid-January (deadline varies each year).
If an application is received after the January deadline, it will still be accepted and the student will be considered if an opening becomes available.
If the number of applications exceeds capacity limitations, a random Lottery selection will be made after the designated deadline in January.
Selections will be based on the enrollment priorities set out in Governing Board Policy 5-105 Open Enrollment.
Families who have been selected for Open Enrollment will be notified after the lottery.
Applications received after the January deadline will not be included in the random lottery selection process; however, placement may still be offered.
An Open Enrollment Waiting List is maintained for each school.
